Minister for Mines and Energy, Willem Westra van Holthe, has announced the 1st Australia China Minerals Investment Summit (ACMIS) will be held in Darwin.
ACMIS will be held in partnership between the Northern Territory Government and the South Australian Government from 21st - 23rd of May 2013, at the Darwin Convention Centre.
The Summit will attract Australia’s leading mining and exploration companies as well as senior government officials and investors from China.
Mr Westra van Holthe said the Summit will be a prestigious and unique event for engagement with China.
“The rationale for holding an event in conjunction with South Australia is to showcase the significant mineral resources in both NT and SA. Together we attract a much larger investor audience,” Mr Westra Van Holthe said.
“The event is aimed at bringing business opportunities and spreading the knowledge of mining opportunities in the Territory and South Australia.
“Speakers will inform delegates about various commodity investment opportunities, market outlook, working with traditional owners, immigration, health and safety regulations and investment opportunities beyond minerals.
“The conference will have ample networking opportunities to ensure the right business environment is created to encourage positive results for the Territory.”
300 delegates are expected at ACMIS, comprising of investors, miners, explorers and policy makers as well as more than 100 Chinese officials.
A dedicated exhibition area organised by the Minerals Council of Australia Northern Territory Division, will be an integral part of the event.
