ADAM GILES
CHIEF MINISTER
Growing business confidence in the Northern Territory economy was on show when Chief Minister Adam Giles today unveiled Darwin’s newest property development - Darwin Corporate Park.
Darwin Corporate Park is an $85 million project on a 2.5 hectare block at Berrimah.
The project will deliver a state of the art campus-style Corporate Office Park, situated in the high growth corridor on the Stuart Highway.
“This is an important part of showing Darwin is open for business. State of the art office space is crucial if we want the city to grow,” Mr Giles said.
The developer, Berrimah Holdings, is a Darwin-based company backed by successful local business operators who have fully funded the development.
It consists of eight, three-level energy efficient buildings.
It includes above and below-ground parking for about 700 cars, as well as showers and storage facilities for bike riders.
The first stage is due for completion in the second half of 2014.
“I am honoured to have turned the first sod on this exciting development. It’s a sign of the big things to come for the Darwin business community,” Mr Giles said.
Importantly for the Northern Territory economy, all suppliers ranging from marketing through to contractors and builders are local.
More than 200 people will be employed over the life of the project.
