The Northern Territory Government has delivered more than $413 million towards essential infrastructure to the remote and regional areas of the Territory in the last 12 months.
Minister for Infrastructure Peter Styles said the Giles Government was committed to the bush and was continuing to deliver on vital assets as well as improving road access to remote communities.
“We have spent more than $413 million on infrastructure, which includes $127 million on roads this financial year,” Mr Styles said.
“More than 95 per cent of our contracts have been awarded to local Territory companies in the past eight months.”
Mr Styles said the Territory Government had recently delivered on a number of essential programs to regional and remote areas of the Territory including nearly $2 million on an upgrade of Jungawa Road and Namarada Drive, $3.7 million towards ten new truck parking bays through Central Australia and $4.7 million towards upgrades on the Red Centre Way.
“We are committed to boosting the Territory’s economy and maintaining and developing our vital infrastructure assets,” he said.
“Developing and building essential infrastructure to regional Territory is part of our government’s plan to deliver for the bush and help drive the development of Northern Australia.”

Mr Styles said while these projects were nearly completed, the Territory Government had a number of projects to begin in the next few months, such as:
