PETER STYLES - MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE
Work is expected to begin in July on the construction of a new bridge across the Charlotte River, on route to Dundee Beach.
A tender is currently being advertised for work to build the 3 x 13 metre span bridge across the Charlotte River on the Fog Bay Road.
Minister for Infrastructure Peter Styles said these works were very important as residents had raised concerns about the need for the bridge.
"The Giles Government has listened to the community’s concerns and will deliver on this vital infrastructure asset,” Mr Styles said.
“This bridge is necessary to provide improved flood immunity to residents and visitors of Fog Bay and Dundee Beach.
“Our government has delivered for the community on improved immunity at various other creek crossings, including Annie Creek Bridge.
“This is part of our government’s ongoing commitment in developing remote and regional Australia.”
The works are expected to begin in July and should be completed by the end of the year.
Mr Styles said there would be traffic management and detours in place although traffic disruptions would be minimal.
“Please obey all signage and drive carefully in the area while the works are taking place,” he said.
