The 3rd Annual NT Major Projects Conference, will be held on the 30th and 31st of October at the Darwin Convention Centre. This event continues to be the largest major projects and infrastructure conference in the state, attracting over 300 delegates annually.
Since 2001, infrastructure spending in the Northern Territory has grown by 252% and injected $10 billion into building the Territory and stimulating the economy. The Northern Territory continues to be the engine room for mining projects in Australia and is undergoing an unprecedented level of expansion as a major international gas hub and key trade gateway to Asia. Budget 2012 delivers $1.3 billion over 5 years on infrastructure. This, along with investments made from the private sector, ensures that the opportunities to leverage off developments, whether proposed, ongoing or recently completed, are greater than ever and the construction boom is showing no signs of slowing down.

JKC Australia LNG Pty Ltd has awarded Laing O’Rourke a $260 million contract to deliver the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities Accommodation Village.
Minister for Climate Change, Karl Hampton, today announced a $639,000 tender to install solar panels on the north and west facing roofs of the Araluen Arts Centre in the Solar City of Alice Springs.
Chief Minister Paul Henderson today welcomed an agreement signed between the Ichthys LNG Project (INPEX 76% and Total 24%) and Charles Darwin University (CDU) in Tokyo to secure funding for the Oil and Gas Centre for Excellence in Darwin.
